jerry gave me an assignment.
everyday i have to come up with one reason why i am awesome.
after about seven hours since i was first assigned this ongoing duty, i’ve finally come up with one that actually makes me feel good about myself. normally, when someone asks a questions like, ‘what makes you, you?’ or, ‘what makes you lucky, or happy to be you?’, i can only respond with stupid answers like ‘well, i’m awesome’ without really thinking about it. but, today, i am actually going to start thinking about the things that i like about myself a little more each day and each day tell jerry one thing about me that makes me awesome. then, in response, he will tell one thing about him that makes him awesome. this is about taking responsibility and owning the things about yourself that we tend to forget- reasons why we can love ourselves at the beginning and the end of each day. things and commitments, work, school, and the like get in the way of us sometimes reminding ourselves of who we are by doing the things we simply love, rather than the things we love to do. there is a difference between doing and enjoying, working and being, dreaming and acting. jerry said that sometimes your achievements begin to replace you. i think this is true, as i have begun to identify myself with the things i do, rather than the things i am and things i do within myself.
today;
1. I am privileged enough to see straight, and privileged to have the will and intelligence to see the world for what it is. regardless of my desire to change it and better the world, i am lucky to simply see. today, this makes me awesome.
